42% of DC's college freshmen aren't ready for college-level work and spend their tuition gaining remedial skills they should've received for free in high school.
The District of Columbia joined 46 other states in adopting the Common Core State Standards to prepare our students for the future. Implementation began in 2012 and transition to the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) will take place during the 2014 - 2015 school year.
